Why I'm Running

I'm running for the State Senate to help people, and to help my community. I want to try and do my part to help improve the lives for all of Mainers. To continue the work I have begun in the legislature to fight for Justice for all. I am a problem solver.  I seek solutions, not sound bites. I don’t care where an idea comes from, if it’s a good idea, I will support it. I am fiercely Independent, and make up my own mind after listening to all sides of an argument and gathering information from all sides.

We need to give working families the chance to lift themselves up. I grew up in a mill town and was one of the first children to attend a Head Start program. That start, a great public education, and a lot of hard work lifted me off welfare and helped me become a judge here in York County.

By investing in people, we can create opportunity, grow Maine's middle class, and ensure everyone can enjoy the retirement they have earned.

If re-elected, I will continue to fight for and advocate on behalf of our most vulnerable citizens; seniors and children, and to fight against Child abuse and Elder abuse.
